Our pal, Schaefer Llana, has a beautiful new album out in November, Full Circle, on Athens, GA based label, Strolling Bones Records. She recorded the album at Dial Back Sound in Water Valley, Mississippi just 30ish miles south of the record store in Oxford. The record features lots of pals and Schaefer’s voice and guitar are on full display with all their glory. We’re excited to select this album for our Record of the Month Club.
We’ll be begin shipping these out around the November 13th release date.

After spending much of the last several years touring as a side woman with Jimbo Mathus and Shinyribs, Schaefer Llana is finally home. Metaphorically speaking, that is.
On her captivating solo debut, Full Circle, Llana finds home wherever she goes: in family, in friends, in nature, in music. Recorded in her native state of Mississippi with a crew of longtime collaborators, the collection is meditative and dreamy, radiating a languorous Southern heat as it drifts between past and present, connection and isolation, love and loss. Llana writes with profound vulnerability, punctuating the poetic grace of her lyrics with deeply personal revelations and unflinching self-reflection, and she delivers her songs with a tender, almost casual ease, one that belies the emotional turbulence behind much of the material.
The result is a raw, cinematic slice of alt-Americana that evokes everything from Beth Orton and Gillian Welch to Phoebe Bridgers and Waxahatchee, a lush, literate exploration of the people and places we carry within, and all the forgiveness, hope, promise, and pain that tethers us together.
