Lots of great records out today and more to come by month’s end. March is going to be crazy…especially with Record Store Day just around the corner.
Two HUGE releases for us came out today: Water Liars’ “Wyoming” (CD/LP) and Youth Lagoon’s “Wondrous Bughouse” (CD/LP/Cassette). Both records are stellar and have been garnering tons of great reviews. “Wondrous Bughouse,” was named Best New Music on Pitchfork yesterday. “Wyoming” gets the award for most-played record in our store since we were able to get our hands on a promo copy. Read a review of “Wyoming” over at American Songwriter, come buy the record, and be sure to catch their in-store show RIGHT HERE TOMORROW (that’s Wednesday, March 6th at 5 p.m.). They’ll be playing a full set later that night just down the street at Lamar Lounge (we’ll be there helping out by DJing before the show starts). We also have free posters to give away with the purchase of either of these records!
That’s not all though!
Here’s a brief list of some other great records out today: Thurston Moore’s new band Chelsea Light Moving’s debut LP is here, The Men have a new one called “New Moon” out on Sacred Bones, Peach Kelli Pop–wife to NoBunny–has an excellent album out on Burger Records, a long-lost studio album from JIMI HENDRIX is out today as well as 200gram, audiofile versions of “Are You Experienced” and “Axis: Bold as Love,” we’ve got the new LP from The Como Mamas out of Como Mississippi, and there are still a few copies of the new Tame Impala “Elephant” 12″ (only 300 copies made)…
That’s not even everything but we know you’re eyes hurt by now from reading all this, so we’ll stop. You should come by the store to see for yourself.
And that’s just the first week of March. Here’s what’s coming in the next few weeks: David Bowie’s first new record in forever “The Next Day” (3/12), Low “Invisible Way” (produced by Jeff Tweedy, 3/19), William Tyler “Impossible Truth” (3/19), Julian Lynch “Lines” (3/26), The Strokes “Comedown Machine” (3/26), Wavves “Afraid of Heights” (3/26), The Flaming Lips “The Terror” (4/2), and so much more…stay tuned!
