BEST OF 2013

Here are our favorite records of the year! We all compiled our lists this year into one big list, which means numbering them in any order is just a waste of time. There was one record that kept getting played in the store since its release that we feel is probably our favorite of the year–Phosphorescent’s “Muchacho.”  So we’ll call that our #1.  The rest of the list is in no order but is compiled of our favorite’s! -My Bloody Valentine “m b v” (FINALLY!!!)

-King Krule “6 Feet Beneath the Moon” (True Panther)

-Prodigy & Alchemist “Albert Einstein” (Jimmy’s favorite rap album of the year)

-Juliana Barwick “Nepenthe

-Lonnie Holley “Keeping a Record of It” (Dust to Digital; it was our LP of the Month)

-Yo La Tengo “Fade” (Matador; YLT also had one of our favorite concerts of the year in Birmingham at Workplay Theater)

-Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds “Push the Sky Away” (we also really loved their RSDBF release “Live from KCRW“)

-Volcano Choir “Repave” (one of Bill’s favorites)

-Medecine “To the Happy Few” (Captured Tracks)
